When we hear the word addiction, the first thought that runs through our minds are drugs, gambling, alcohol, and tobacco. However, addiction comes in many forms and shapes. For example, modern technology is another form of addiction. Modern technology is a big part of our lives today, compared to many years ago. It has enhanced our life in so many ways, and the rate at with technology is advancing has to stare of stagnation.in today 's society, it 's hard for people to imagine their lives without technology. If I were to take a survey, I would find out that 8 out of 10 people spend 4 to 5 hours every day on their mobile phones, laptops, or computers talking and networking with their friends. They are constantly on their devices

Even though, most people would argue that it was due to technology that the first man landed on the moon. However, I believe that with every benefit that modern technology brings us, there is also a downside. It comes between us and our day to day life.
Technology is very addictive and controlling. It causes us to be reluctant towards real communication or having a meaningful conversation with people that we encounter every day. I think it is safe to say that over the years texting has become more famous through the whole world as people of all races and gender now tend rely on it rather than met up. About 80% of humans cannot live without our cellphones and most of us feel like we cannot function without it. We prefer to text than met face to face. As a result, we lack social skills. For example, in a case of romance gone wrong and one partner decides to break up. It will be easier to break up through text than face to face. It will be less awkward and total ok but disrespectful. Social media has become an incredible part of our society. It has profoundly changed our lives, as people of all races use it for different purposes. However, Social media plays a huge role in the dating world today. So many people are so addicted to social media in such an unhealthy way that leads them to fond a bond with people they have never met in real life. They so become so isolated from the real world because they are constantly on websites like Facebook, Twitter, Emo, Instagram, Skype, and WhatsApp. Marriages result in divorces people one spouse is addicted to his/her online boyfriend/girlfriend. It is not only through online dating that people get addicted to social media. Social media comes in many forms. F or example, my little sister, madina. She is so addicted to social media. She is always up around 1am because she is on her Instagram or Twitter sharing her pictures, tweeting her friends, or commenting on other people
