Diamond. The society should be responsible to both support and protect individuals who face difficult situations. Effective moral support and a serious follow up of the situation are both vital to the wellbeing of these individuals. I believe if the Reimer’s had an ethical, responsible and serious counselor, they would not have made the mistake to agree blindly on Dr. Money’s experiment. Moreover, if they had a counselor who had known what the evil doctor had suggested, maybe he/she would have made the necessary arrangements to pursue the unethical psychologist. The support should not be reserved only for the decisions makers but also to the ones who bear the burden of those decisions: the twins in this case. God only knows what these two victims have been through or what kind of feelings and thoughts crossed their minds. The fact that they both eventually committed suicide proves that there was no concrete support to their aching
