The product placement in Jurassic World certainly serves its purpose as it exposes the audience to the many brand names and merchandise. The particularly clever product placements leave a far more permanent and positive attitude in the audience’s mind about their brand as they are not just simply trying to capture attention in the background, but rather showing the audience the product’s use and enjoyment through the characters of the movie. One such effective product placement is when Chris Pratt takes a nice, big, refreshing gulp of Coca-Cola. As he gulps down the soda, I couldn't help but want to taste one for myself at that very moment. This placement may have been particularly effective as some of the iconic items that are associated with the movie going experience are popcorn and a large soda. There must have been ten different scenes with main characters driving numerous different Mercedes vehicles, ranging from small SUVs to massive Mercedes off-road vans. The overall image I left the theatre with about the Mercedes brand name after viewing Jurassic World is one that consisted of a combination of luxury and performance. I couldn't help but enjoy every minute of watching the main characters of the film constantly racing through the jungle in the Mercedes G-Wagon attempting to capture the antagonist of the movie, the Indominous Rex. The Mercedes product placement in Jurassic World truly captured and held my attention, and greatly increased the chances of me purchasing a Mercedes vehicle in the future. In my opinion, both Coca-Cola’s and Mercedes-Benz’s product placements should be what companies’ marketing divisions strive to achieve in film, as they are as effective as it
