As I walked into the small building, that in fact looked very enormous at the time, I began to anticipate every answer I would give to the person who interviewed me, so that to them, I would at least seem prepared. Although I had practiced my interviewing skills that very morning, I felt anxious and worried. Not knowing what to expect, many different scenarios ran through my mind, all of which weren't making my situation any better. Questions after questions were asked, all which seemed impossible for me to answer, and I felt as though I blew the whole thing. After the interview, many days passed by, and I had convinced myself that I did not get job.…
But most importantly I learned to enjoy every moment and even my failures because in the end you will look back, smile, and appreciate where those failures got…
Mentor, is a kind of authority. Very rarely is an authority in every respect. There is also a difference between the professional mentor and moral mentor. It would be wonderful if these aspects went hand in hand, but this is rare.…
I learned from the experience that no matter how hard is it, if I try hard enough, I can succeed on…
Everyone can say that they always imagined or wanted to look up to someone whether if the person was famous or related to them. Throughout my teenage day I’ve always wanted someone to mentor me and show me things in life that I can one day use in the future years to come. I didn’t want a mentor that was a few years older I always wanted someone that was almost twice my age, maybe even older than me. My mentor that I will be talking about name is James. James and I met at my job throughout my time working there I have worked with many managers.…
Summer Session I already came to an end. This class flew by so quickly. Since my last class participation assessment, I think I continued to show good work. I tried my best in class. Although all the reading in Mosaic I was amazing, Unit 2 was my favorite.…
In 2013-2014, I was the leader of the tutoring and mentoring organizations within my high school. As a tutor, I volunteered at a local elementary school, helping young students with their homework and projects. I also was a mentor to younger students in my high school, aiding them in their transition by giving them study tips and introducing them to the wide range of extracurricular activities. These roles allowed me realize my passion for helping people and cultivate the interpersonal skills I needed for nursing. In 2014 until now, I am involved in the Canadian Nurses Student Association, which is the national voice for Canadian student nurses.…
My professional experience allows me to be an outstanding candidate for this position given that I have been taught by outstanding mentors and teachers of my past. I have learned and the incorporated various teachings. Teaching such as Professionalism and Work Ethics these I feel are experiences that I plan to pass to youth so our future can prosper with positive generations.…
I have done my fall internship at the same school but during the day. I feel that there is a lot I can do to support the students both academically and emotionally. During the first meeting with the counselor she expressed that being bilingual and bi-cultural will help. I know that there are not many opportunities to talk or have sessions with students, since they don’t have elective classes where I can see them, but I will try my best to be flexible with their schedules. I found out that they have a student government association, so I will try to be involved in their activities,…
We finally started our shadowing shifts this week. I had switched with a friend in the internship, so I had to wake up early on a Tuesday to start my first shadowing shift. We were not told who we will be shadowing, and so I had a pleasant surprise when I found out my first hour was with Mariko. I had not worked much with her in my first semester working for CELT. She taught me the basics of what a student technologist does at the Teaching Learning Lab.…
Over the two semesters interning at Pathways, my communication skills enhanced. As far as oral, written, engagement, interviewing, and case noting, I have practiced them all at my field placement. Before I became an intern at Pathways, I was unaware of my poor writing skills, I was also not comfortable speaking in front of large groups of people, however, my field instructors assisted me right away. My field instructors would assign me writing assignments, and each time they would review them, they would find grammatical errors that needed to be fixed. The writing assignments continued until they determined I had developed in that area.…
Rachel Levy Senior Project Lofaso-Period 7 5/6/17 My senior project internship was interning at the Girl Scout Shop of Nassau County in Hicksville at 325 Duffy Ave. I enjoyed helping parents get what materials they need to start Girl Scouts and find the patches required to complete their uniform. When a customer come in we would ask if they need help or ask what they are looking for. Girls come in for a uniform, we size it for the girls and tell the parents what they need to put on the uniform patches they need to start girl scouts and the American Flag,…
Intro One of the nice things about growing up in Canada was that I was exposed to multiple cultures at a very young age. This has given me the upper hand when meeting people of different cultures in the United States. I am very fortunate to have a best friend who is from Eastern Europe and has welcomed me into her home on many occasions for me to experience their cultures. Valerie, or Valeriya, Khaletskaya is one of my very close friends who grew up in a cultural completely different then my own. Her cultural background is Russian, and her family still celebrates and performs all the cultures holidays and traditions, so I thought she would be the perfect candidate for my Summer Interview.…
Working together with my peers to create and present a single presentation was a new experience for me. I can proudly say that we all worked well together. On our day off we all went to Panara to work together without having to wait for someone to submit their assigned task on Google Docs. At first this intimidated me because I was afraid to be put on the spot of having to try and keep up with my peers as we produced our planning guide and power point together. However, we were all able to work nicly together contributing information.…
