Personal Narrative: My Summer Session

Decent Essays
Summer Session I already came to an end. This class flew by so quickly. Since my last class participation assessment, I think I continued to show good work. I tried my best in class. Although all the reading in Mosaic I was amazing, Unit 2 was my favorite. I enjoyed reading the Trials of Socrates and The Complete Persepolis. My comments on both of the readings were good. My goal was to connect with a classmate. Unfortunately, I have not achieved my goal, but I have still improved in class participation. I followed Ryan’s comments and tried to learn from his response and incorporate that in my analysis. I engaged with my classmates through VT’s and discussion broad threads. I replied to Emily H’s posts. My greatest strength when it comes to

I was 10 years old. I looked from the edge of the mat, unaware about the endeavor I was about to take the moment my foot touched that mat. I finally decided to walk on, like they had taught me by bowing, it was the first of a near million times I was going to do this. I was a white belt, at the best taekwondo centers in the area. All the kids, stood to the side eerily silent, waiting for instructions.…

The first day I joined AS 1000 I was very nervous and wasn’t sure what to expect from this class. It has now been about four weeks in this class, and I can see the change in myself. My lectures are usually on my computer screen. I turn on my bedroom light and sit at my desk and prepare for my lecture. I like it to be well lit and quiet when I read over my lecture and to do list. I like to have a cup of tea during my lecture to keep me alert and focused. Once I’m in my zone I log in to Canvas and start my weekly assignments…

Culminating Final Reflection My presentation was pretty effective in terms of getting my information and overall points across. I think the most effective part of my presentation was the organization of slides. As you walk through the large wooden doors of the red carpeted lobby, the magic of the theatre overwhelms you. You hand your ticket to one of the ushers and they smile and hand you a crisp glossy copy of a beautifully crafted program. He wears freshly pressed slacks of a deep black, and his hair is gelled perfectly into position. Together, you step through another set of heavy wooden doors and into the house of the theatre. With the usher as your guide, you weave through hundreds of crimson velvet seats bearing small plates the color of new pennies.…

During my Junior year, my two-year English teacher Mrs. Granatir, who previously taught College Preparatory, was moving. I wondered what college prep would be like with the new English teacher. Through my senior friends, I knew what Mrs. Granatir taught her College Preparatory students and I sometimes wondered how I would do if I was going to be in that class next year; however, this new College Preparatory class, with its new teacher and completely different lessons, was more unexpected than I had imagined, but I learned more about college life than I thought I would. Something that I never expected on the first day of school, was the young teacher, who is really honest about things, saying that we would start the school year with learning…

The best thing about life is the experiences we gain as we go out and explore the world for ourselves. There are extravagant experiences that we may brag about to others, and then there are worthwhile experiences, the little, yet personal, experiences that are deeply meaningful to us that others may not enjoy the same way we do. Worthwhile experiences allow us to connect with people we may or may not know in an intimate way, and to me, these experiences need to be shared with others and not taken for granted. I was lucky, because I was able to experience my first Western Art concert with my grandmother by my side, and it was a day that I will never forget. On October 1st, 2015 I attended my first ever Western Art concert with…
