As I walked into the small building, that in fact looked very enormous at the time, I began to anticipate every answer I would give to the person who interviewed me, so that to them, I would at least seem prepared. Although I had practiced my interviewing skills that very morning, I felt anxious and worried. Not knowing what to expect, many different scenarios ran through my mind, all of which weren't making my situation any better. Questions after questions were asked, all which seemed impossible for me to answer, and I felt as though I blew the whole thing. After the interview, many days passed by, and I had convinced myself that I did not get job. Finally, I got the call that changed everything for me. I was going to be working for the Hyde Square Task Force Youth Organization (HSTF), and at that point, I felt as though I could do anything.
As a new person in the workforce, I quickly gained many new experiences which eventually led me to bigger and better opportunities. Within the HSTF, I took classes where I learned about money management, time management, interviewing and professionalism. As a young teenager, these skills were a necessity as I was learning to provide for myself

law firm internship. An agonizing few days passed as I waited for a reply, and I was ecstatic to learn that I had been chosen for the internship. No words could explain how excited I was but the smile that filled my face said it all. At this internship, I built upon what I learned at Hyde Square Task Force and developed more confidence and determination to succeed in a professional environment. Not only did I take Shakespeare, writing, public speaking, civil rights and art classes, but I also worked in an office, participated in community service events, and visited colleges, which all helped me explore and adapt to different ambiances of the work

An internship is normally a work task a student completes after a series of classes to gain a degree in a particular field they think they’ll love, whether they still love it after they’ve completed that journey is based upon a multitude of criteria. Luckily, I have found that I quite enjoy fashion and working in retail throughout this internship at Dress Barn. Occasionally students find that what they thought they were getting into, is actually completely different than what they expected. Especially when reading about a profession on paper versus seeing it up closer in real life. When I started college, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to study or achieve with my life.…

We finally started our shadowing shifts this week. I had switched with a friend in the internship, so I had to wake up early on a Tuesday to start my first shadowing shift. We were not told who we will be shadowing, and so I had a pleasant surprise when I found out my first hour was with Mariko. I had not worked much with her in my first semester working for CELT. She taught me the basics of what a student technologist does at the Teaching Learning Lab.…

The last week of my internship at the Gallatin Valley Food Bank was spent working on tasks that are completed on a day to day basis by volunteers and the type of work that made up the majority of my internship hours. During the morning on Monday I first watered the garden and then helped to restock the store shelves from the back stock and morning donations. In the Afternoon on Tuesday I helped to box up groceries for customers as they checked out and once again watered the garden. I am confident that I could drop in at any time of day and be able to help out in most situations. The will allow future volunteer work of really any type at the food bank to be feasible.…

Two months ago, I received a job interview to work at an assisted and independent living facility called Cascade Inn, and to say it went well would be stretching the truth a bit far. At the start, my nervousness was clearly showing through my continuous strained smile and timid voice, leading up to the lagging in my brain as I struggled to comprehend some of the questions. More likely convinced from my mom and older sister’s work relation there, I was hired. From the beginning, I was a typical young teenager with low self-esteem scared to do anything wrong. I was frightened of the possibilities of failure, but these previous months at work completely altered my view to where I now feel comfort in the people I work with.…

As days passed I wasn 't surprised at all that they had not called back because my interview had gone completely terrible. That didn’t amend for the fact that was self-esteem had dropped though.…

Everyone worked together and treated each other like a family so that helped me to be comfortable working with them. The workplace was always very clean, which also created a nice environment around me to focus on my work. That’s really a good thing because a nice working environment keeps me safe, healthy, and gives me more energy to do my work.…

While attending Florida State University for the past 3 years, I have managed to conquer a handful of classes. Throughout lectures, labs, and long nights studying, I have always contemplated whether or not this information is going to beneficial to me in the “Real World”. As daunting as the “Real World” seemed to be in the past, it no longer seems to be such a scary place due to the knowledge I have gained from my time in the classroom as well as the time I spent interning at Mad Men Marketing this summer. Yes, there are a lot of classes that are required as prerequisites that in no way, shape, or form correlated to the skills needed to understand and complete various tasks at my internship, but at the same time I firmly believe that having some background in a variety of subjects is crucial in understanding the world and becoming a well rounded intellectual. As my junior year of college came to a close this…

During my internship as a web developer at Data to Insight (D2I) center, I did many different types of work from trivial tasks like organizing assets to substantial technology-based project like building a full function website from scratch. I got started my job with simple static websites, and then began to maintain and improve websites built on different Web Content Management Systems, and tried to create brand new websites using CMSs later. Occasionally I also needed to help on some less-technical jobs between projects. Overall, those main projects I worked on were fulfilling and meaningful. PRAGMA…
