The total estimate cost is around $24,000 (The Student Loan Report), and I still plan on applying for scholarships to assist me through my first year without taking out a loan. Although a loan may be practical, and there are a multitude benefits due to the loan from the William Carpenter Foundation in 4-H that is interest free insuring I do not pay extra for my education. Student loans also provide grace periods to allow you to find a job before they start acquiring too much interest. I cannot wait to start college, but planning is a major part of being successful, and I will plan to work during college and create opportunities for myself over the summer through internships and jobs. My mother and father have taught me to put myself out into the world and to not be afraid of making connections and new friends. This skill will help to establish connections with important companies, and it will allow me to find jobs faster and meet wonderful new people. I will also use what my teacher has taught me about financial planning and situations I will experience in college.
