Reflective Essay On My Academic Plan

Decent Essays
I will make sure my academic plan works out for my college career, because I am very goal driven and I will not accept failure. Some of my strengths include being goal focused, having the drive to keep myself on task, and being brutally honest with myself by accepting and asking for help when I need too. Some areas that I need to work on include time management because I am working full time, staying focused on assignments that I see no interest in, and taking point during group projects so my potential group can stay on task and accomplish assignment. I think the two courses I will really like from my major would be GAM-207 Information Technology and Game Design and IT-340 Network and Telecomm Management. While it might be nice to study abroad, I have no time for this and so is out of the realm of possibility. As for pre-professional experience, I am currently self-employed and have been for over 8 years now. I find jumping in and getting your feet wet is the best way to learn, and since I always wanted to own different kinds of companies I would just simply read up on it and do it. The third option I must admit I have not looked into or even given it a second thought. I might take a look some clubs down the road, when my plate is a little less full, but for the moment I rather take the time to work on my classwork and other class based …show more content…
I never thought I was going to enter college and had no desire too, but once I saw the requirement to become an Officer I knew what I had to do. Not being familiar with the academic world SNHU helped show me parts of college I had no idea existed, like the act of registration and pre-planning my courses. Finally, I can relate the academic plan to taking the fear out of moving forward after the first semester. Now that I have a road map I can plan out my life for the next 3 years a little better. The fact that I can take a little stress off my shoulders is huge to me and I value the academic plan that much

When it comes to understanding yourself and your personality on a deeper level than normally, you must take personal stories into perspective that have shaped your life while growing up. According to McAdams, “defining oneself through a personal story is an act of psychological and social responsibility” (Engler 2009). Psychological and social responsibility relate to how you act onto actions around you and how you tie society into your viewpoint of the world. In other words, explaining yourself through a story can show several things such as how your emotions played an affect, the type of response you displayed to something that happened, and as well as the lessons you learned through a personal but also social aspect. In addition, McAdams…

My leadership philosophy is one that is rooted in the strong belief that it must be a continuous quest to motivate all students to become critical thinkers, effective communicators, and lifelong learners, while possessing outstanding character. This includes assisting students with discovering their talents and interests, therefore developing a love of learning, while developing into ethical, productive citizens. Accomplishing this requires a leader who is knowledgeable in pedagogy and curriculum, including the use of data and current assessments to enhance instruction, and who possesses outstanding communication skills, the ability to manage an operation’s resources effectively, promotes collaboration and teamwork, and is passionate and committed to helping students learn. I believe that my interpersonal skills will be my biggest strength as an educational leader. Action Plan (Start) From January through September, I am very busy with baseball and softball because I am the head coach for both my son and daughter 's team. When you add this to an already busy family schedule and work as a full time student, free time is not something readily available. There have been several instances when I have been working with schedules for both teams and I send conflicting messages to the parents. The initial time spent sending communications is doubled, and often tripled, by responding to confused parents and sending out another group communication.…

Lesson planning is a highly important part of teaching. Lesson plans are a teacher’s guide in his or her class room. They outline the learning goals and objectives for a particular lesson or chapter; they may also include the activity the teacher has planned and the supplies they will need to help the students complete that assignment. During my field placement I have yet to see my cooperating teacher plan out her lessons for the week, but it is clear she has a lesson plan. She usually has a lecture planned out for each day and she uses the textbook to outline the students learning objectives.…
