High Point has negative connotations associated with it due to past actions that students have inflicted on the school. Most of these implications are not true anymore because of the enriching students and faculty staff that High Point has. From the typical stereotypes of being a student at High Point to me having multiple anxiety attacks, due to various factors, have shaped me to be the person who I am today. With my pride, I also have to be humble about it because that pride can be taken as “cocky” or “conceited,” which I am not. Personally, I feel that having pride and being humble comes hand to hand because other people will recognize your accomplishments, but when you are bragging they will also recognize your arrogance. If they associate your arrogance with your accomplishments it will devalue your accomplishments.
