High school is fours years you can be wild, careless, and learn the adventure into adulthood. The years you have a class with the same people, able to know everyone 's name within the school, and have the unknown of what your future is going to hold. Over the years their has been a decrease in high school students. But there has been an increase in high school dropouts. Comparing the freshman class to the senior class at any school you will notice a dramatic decrease in the amount about students in the senior class to freshman class. Due to over the years students made the decision to drop out of high school. School administrators and parents need to come realization about the increase in high school dropout rates. Students will have the opportunity to work at there job during school hours which will cost towards school credits. In “ What problems that cause students to drop out of school” by Kristin Tucker is a article describing the reasons why students make the decision to drop out of high school. “ Dropouts who are concerned about their immediate, short-term financial situation may see a full-time job as the best way to maintain the lifestyle they desire” ( Tucker). Many high school dropouts think by dropping out of high school they will be able to earn more income instead of attending school every day. The students who are dropping out of school are the kids who live on their own or they are providing the income for their family. School administrator should seek to local business that have the mainly youth working for them to see if they can create a on the job training class. Which is they get to go to work in the afternoon towards the end of school hours and while working it will count as credit towards graduation. Students who are attending high school should not be allowed to have a on the job training option. It may be beneficial in the long …show more content…
By setting up individual goals and plans each year they wont have the feeling of dropping out of school because they are trying to reach those goes. An they get realization about how close they are to being done with school and pretty soon they will have a high school diploma. Also they wont have to get a GED if they desire that route in the future. In “ How David Beats Goliath: When Underdogs Break the Rules” by Malcom Gladwell, he talks about how a basketball game should be played with the coaches two principles. How being underdogs in basketball and if you play harder you are more than likely to end up winning the game. “ When underdogs choose not to play by Goliath’s rule, they win, Arreguin- Toft concluded ‘even when everything we think we know about power says they shouldn’t” ( Gladwell, 82). In the game of basketball there is always a underdog very rarely do underdogs when the game. If they went into the game think they were going to win the game they would probably likely win the.
