They will take turns pushing her wheelchair through the entirety of the race, enabling her to tackle the 5 kilometers. The other reason that Caliah will be able to run her first race is because of her mom Cameca, who stated, “We are a sports family and we didn’t want to exclude her.”
As the running team prepared for their “race”, you can see in the face of Cameca that this is a big moment for her and Caliah, a moment that she wouldn’t want to miss. Though not as prepared as she wished, Cameca without hesitation decided that she would run along with everyone, she cautioned that she hasn’t exercised in a while and running might the race catch her off guard.
As the team got going, you can see the change in Caliah’s demeanor, you can see that she enjoys the wind on her face, you can see her laugh as the team ran together, even chasing after team member and giddily requesting to chase bicycle riders.
