It was a game I never will forget.. We received the ball at the beginning of the game, and as we profusely drove the ball down their throats. The Clare Pioneers who we have not beat since 2006, cannot stop the run. All the sudden it is the fourth quarter and we are losing, 22-28 still driving the ball down the field we get stopped about three yards shy of a first down. So we pass the ball.. From under center Donald call Hit! he rolls right and as he gets hit he throws looking for Eddie down the side and its intercepted and as i see him pick it off my heart drops. We lost that game 42-22. I was heartbroken i thought it would be the year we knock off the Pioneers as the JackPine champs. i said “Dad, what is this?” he said back to me “it is football Tommy.” and at that moment I was so intrigued by them kicking it between the “big yellow things” as I called them when I was a kid but I later learned they were called Goal posts. And so i asked my dad “Dad.. how do you play this game?” and he said “If you have time I will tell you.” So after a while of talking to him the urge to play this game got bigger and bigger! So I explained to my dad why I liked this game and he said they were starting a youth football league and I freaked out at the time I was in 4th grade and next would be my time to shine! So fifth grade year comes around I 'm all signed up for football and excited first practice so excited! I get there and I am told I cannot participate because I didn 't have my physical so here I am wondering what a physical is. I get home and my mom and dad ask me how practice went and I told them I couldn 't participate and they said why? I told them I needed a physical. So during school that I get my first ever physical and I am going say that was not what I …show more content…
So it 's my first game and I get up to the line and it 's a thirty four lead and I block my guy and I put him on the ground my first ever pancake block ever! And after that game the coaches put me on the starting offensive line but not at guard at center! I have never ever played this position before so all week at practice they give me reps all week at center and they told me to go and watch the high schoolers play so my dad and I did and this is when they were good like we are now. And I went to most the games and they only lost one game and it was too grayling, I remember the Tyler brothers were the stars of the team, them being Mitch and Trevor. As the season progresses in my first season of play i noticed myself becoming really good not good enough as some coaches would say. Starting my sixth grade year I really started to enjoy football and that year my dad starting coaching me! That same year I even got my own nickname Tommy “The Tank” Tiepel. As my

We started Jack Foster on the mound, but, it didn’t go as planned. They started hitting bombs off him and scored five runs in the first inning. My heart sank after that and most of the team had lost hope. Our coach asked if after all we have done were we going to give up just like that. I remember us fighting back into the game.…

I remember it like it was yesterday, the first play was OG 32 full-back trap. This play was a great play against Madison, but for one thing… I had to go against Tyler Curry, Madison’s middle linebacker and center. My job was to get to Curry and move him away from the two hole so Cody Miller could run through without any problems. So on set, hut I ran to Curry and blindsided him and lit him up.…

It was October 16, 2012. I was in seventh grade, just a boy to become someone or something. We were loading the bus with our two coaches, Coach Voss and Coach Larh. Coach Voss the offensive coach who liked to make us run, and coach larh, our Defensive coach who taught me everything I known about the defensive side of the ball. This was a big game for me and my fellow teammates this game was going to set the tone for the rest of the season to show that we can be successful.…

“Alright now Skin, I need you to be my leadoff here and get a rally going!” I do not respond, because I obviously know how important this one at bat is for the team and for myself. One thing coach loves doing, making sure I know how much I am accountable for. There is no comment to explain to me of how dependent I am on these upcoming moments for the team, so don’t make it any worse. To start off and to have the power to set the tone of the whole inning.…

Being five foot eight inches tall isn’t a bad thing, unless you’re trying to play 8A high school football. Playing football at such a high level and at my size is extremely challenging. It took me some convincing at the lunch table, and after the first couple spring workouts I realized how much effort I would have to put in to make it. Through hard work and effort along with a lot of food and protein I made it on the junior varsity team. I played well in JV, so my junior year I was moved up to varsity which is a completely different league of its own.…

Our basketball team hadn’t won a championship game since 1992. It was my senior year and my last shot at redemption against the defending champs. The whole season we only lost one game, we were projected to lose, and we were the underdogs. We had one week left to prepare for what was the largest game of my high school career. Monday’s practice was the worst of the week, we only ran and shot free throws.…
