Personal Essay: My Uncle Was Like My Second Dad

My uncle was like my second dad to me. His name is Armando. I would be with him when my dad was at work and when he left I would hang out with my dad. When my dad was busy, sometimes my uncle would take me to Mankato and spoil me. Then I was going to turn 2, he bought me this stuff animal cat. When I received that gifted it meant the world to me. In Spanish cat is translated to gato. During that time I still learning how to talk. When my mom told me to grab my cat and then for some reason I add ‘it’ on to gato. That was his name Gatito. Then when I got a bit older I started to watch soccer and was able to understand it. During the weekend my dad, my uncle and I would watch soccer games. I got up and tried to find my parent and my uncle and they weren’t home it was just my sister and I. I ask my sister “Where’s mom and dad and tio?” She just told me that they went to go the store. I was okay they might have gone to get some food. So I went to brush my teeth and climb the counter to my cereal. Then I went to grab my bowl and climb down and went to the refrigerator to get my milk, then to go watch some TV. Then couple minutes they return. They didn’t have anything from the store. Then I asked them where did you guys go, they told to the bakery. Then I just got over it. After I finished eating my cereal went to go put it in the sink and went to go take a shower. After I finished taking a show went to change, then went to the living room to go play with my Lego’s and then things started to change. My parent told to go to my room with my sister, so I grab few mini-figures and got bored playing with them. And I wanted to hear what they were talking about so I put my ear on the door to listen and hear my dad talking my uncle. I wasn’t sure what happened, then fifteen minutes my mom open the door. And I see my uncle grabbed his suitcase and he said that he’ll be leaving and promised me that he’ll be back. And he kissed me goodbye. I started to cry because I was going to miss
