There are distinct organizational designs that fit best to the needs of U.S. Army. But, single one would not be sufficient to support its organizational structure promoting value of it. United State Army has shown its presence in several countries like Japan, Korea, Germany, Afghanistan and Iraq, etc. in this way, this army has taken advantage of geographical location. Customer based services are provided by the United States Army including preserving land, defending people of country and fighting to resist actions of enemies (U.S. Army, 2016).

Army matches with that of non military organizations in one way. This structure works in cooperation of one another to produce better results irrespective of the type of battalion which can be associated with Calvary soldiers, Airborne, Infantry or Armored (General, 1942).But, the headquarters will still remain the heart of whole Army. They will work together to function properly. They need help from each other and works as single unit.
Decision making
At top level of organization, the decision making process of United States Army is centralized. In decision making process, the commander is considered as in charge of U.S. Military. He is the person who knows what decision is to be made according to the situation. He is having clear visualization of battlefield which helps him taking crucial steps of decision making. He has to think from the perspective of whole country. He is solely responsible for implementing, preparing, and planning of the several operations.
Starting from planning till the execution of the decision, the role of commanders is central. He provides guidance and focus to the Army Staff. But, there are some actions for which the commander alone is not responsible. At lower level of Army, the decision making is often decentralized. This process includes seven steps as given
