After reading the student handout, “An Army White Paper, The Profession of Arms”, you come across two important definitions. The first definition you come across is The Profession of Arms, in which it states “The Army is an American Profession of Arms, a vocation compromised of experts certified in the ethical application of land combat power, serving under civilian authority, entrusted to defend the Constitution and the rights and interests of the American people.” The second definition you come across is The Professional Soldier, in which it states “An American Professional Soldier is an expert, a volunteer certified in the profession of Arms, bonded with comrades in a shared identity and culture of sacrifice and service to the nation and the Constitution, who adheres to the highest ethical standards and is a steward of the future of the Army profession.” The Adjutant General’s Corps plays a big role in the day to day operations of the military. Upon arrival to the 328th MP CO as a Specialist, I did not realize what it meant to be a professional. In the beginning, I went about trying to fix the many administrative deficiencies in all the wrong ways because I was inexperienced. After getting knocked down a few times, I started to realize there were many thing I did not know needed to learn. I sought advice from many senior Human Resources Sergeants I respected and in turn I learned how to be a professional. Although change in the 328th MP CO did not happen overnight, I was able to have my voice heard and gained well deserved respect from my Senior Leadership in the company. The hard work and dedication during my six years showed greatly in my duties as a Human Resources Non Commissioned Officer and as I was able to produce new and innovative ways of executing my duties making the customer service aspect of my job reflect through my
