In the Army, the services performed keep evolving into something better. Human
Resource services being one of those services contributing to this advancement of
change. Throughout the context of this paper the importance of a Human Resource
Sergeant and its significance in the Profession of Arms will be addressed.
What It Means to Be a Human Resources Profession
Human Resources is a profession where eyes are always on the people serving
in those roles. The position requires to work with a multitude of different entities and

Being a Human Resource leader involves so much more than just rank
and power. It starts with Sergeants taking initiative, setting the example for those they
are leading to follow. The Profession of Arms gives an excellent example that even
though a leader may not hold a high position of leadership, they contribute to the
professionalism of the Army daily even if they can’t make major changes (“The

The Army’s Professional Culture
One of the most wonderful things about the Army is the diverse amount of people
whom serve. Human Resource Sergeants working in the profession encounter multiple
different types of personalities, beliefs, races, sexualities, and etcetera. The Profession
of Arms brought up a very crucial factor that the Soldiers that make up the organization
