Opening Statement
All around the world on a daily basis animals are being harmed because of humans. We are forcing these animals to suffer for our entertainment, experimental, and food purposes. Many animals are subjected to harsh treatment. The experimental division in animals uses them to their advantage. While innocent animals are used on tv and in bull fights for entertainment. And when animals are at farms they wait for an unfair death. This is why I am advocating against animal cruelty. It is inhumane for animals to be treated as if they were nothing. As the wise man Edward Freeman once said, “These awful wrongs and sufferings forced upon the innocent, helpless, faithful animal race, form the blackest chapter in the whole world’s history.” In the article “A Change of Heart about Animals” Jeremy Rifkin discusses that animals are no different than humans. Being no different than humans means that someone or something is similar to a human being because of either their characteristics or similar body parts. Animals are like humans in the way that they are intelligent, affectionate, and skillful. Animals learn by their behavior as well as humans, however, the only difference is many animals are brutally abused.…

The rhetorical situation and context my paragraph responds to regards the difficulty of establishing an appropriate penalty for cases of animal cruelty. This paragraph will be my first paragraph, discussing how scientists have indicated that individuals who commit cases of animal cruelty are often perceived to suffer from a mental disorder (Wilson and Norris, 2003). Consequently due to the perpetrator’s inability to think rationally, sentences applied for these cases may be reduced and this in turn, has caused many perpetrators to become repeat offenders and also become violent towards humans. This notion will be explored by researching multiple sources that all utilize a variety of rhetorical devices such as literary devices and rhetorical…

Currently, the treatment of animals by humans is unjust. As a species, starting long ago, humans have killed animals and have eaten their meat as a means of survival. In recent years, however, the desire for meat has come to the point where animals are being forcefully strangled to death and are being genetically manipulated to quickly grow and die. The people who have killed those animals may have had good intentions––to supply food to consumers––but the food was…

For most people, it’s hard to wrap their head around the idea that animals all over the world are being abused, neglected, or even used in animal fighting. It’s a very sad concept to fully understand because most people think, “Why would someone do terrible things to an innocent animal?”. That is a type of question that many organizations are asking themselves today. Every day thousands of animals are brought to shelters because of the hardships that they had to go through during their life outside of the kennel.…

The issues that animals are put through for entertainment, experimentation, food, clothing, and wildlife is horrifying. Animals are enslaved, beaten, electrocuted, strangled, burned, stabbed, and skinned alive to be used for human use and consumption. For the clothing industry, millions of animals are killed by being electrocuted, strangled, and skinned alive. This issue is very important because clothing should be made out of fabrics rather than animal fur. Millions of mice, rats, rabbits, primates, cats, dogs, and other animals are burned, blinded, poisoned, and cut up alive for experimentation.…

Animal abuse has been a constant, underlying issue in modern society for a long time. Hidden in plain sight, most people tend to ignore or miss the signs of animal abuse. This issue is addressed in the advertisements created by Mikayla Slom and Alexandria Wai at the ISF Academy. Designed to appeal to an audience of animal lovers, the two advertisements suggest that animal cruelty is hidden away in many aspects of our lives and aim to make the viewer take action. These two advertisements both convey their messages using short sentences, slogans and symbolism to make the viewer think about their own part in the problem and urge them to take action about the issue.…

Although animals are not capable of speaking to stand up for themselves, animals deserve moral rights just as humans do. There are people out in the world that would gladly mistreat animals for their own entertainment, food, materials, and wealth, but, there also people will not allow such actions to occur for the reason that as humans, given a privilege, have a responsibility to help the poor and defenseless animals from maltreatment. Animals are victims of homeowner abuse, poaching, slaughter houses, poor medical care, and forced entertainment. Also, animal deaths come from the meat industry where they are killed and injured in the most inhumane methods.…

Thousands of cases of animal abuse are filed each year, but less than a quarter of them lead to convictions (Friedman 34). Many of these cases filed are due to the use of animals in entertainment. Today, places like zoos, circuses, bull fights, horse races, and others use animals as amusement. These entertainment industries thrive on well trained and compliant animals, which is difficult to achieve. Trainers then use punishment and cruelty to train and care for those animals.…

In the world today, people cannot do without animals because they have become an essential part of human existence to both vegetarians and meat eaters. Some animals serve as pet, and some serve as food, and others are used for sports and laboratory experiments. Although some animal activist advocates for animal rights, there are limits to that right because animals cannot be equal with human. They don’t have the intellectual ability that humans have to take responsibilities and control what happens around them. These animals are important in the society and the need to treat them with respect is paramount.…
