MSD’s high school Assistant Principal Chet Virnig looked into open campus lunch, but decided not to; he argued that open campus lunch is “complex and time-consuming” (2017). Although this is his second year working in high school at MSD, he lacks the knowledge of MSD’s past policies and actions toward open campus lunch. The student may not even be an upperclassman. Reasons why the child might not be able to go off campus are not only limited to these. The child may feel disappointed about her or his inability to go off campus for lunch.
