G.A.H. currently lives with both of her parents …show more content…
attends elementary school at P.S.110 in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Being that G.A.H. attended this school from when she was in kindergarten it shows that she has the same friend circle. She is in the gifted and talented program at her school and excels in the advanced curriculum. G.A.H. attends school five days a week from 8:00am to 3:20pm. Her school year begins in September and ends in June with two months of summer vacation. Mrs. H reports that her teachers state that she is a very helpful as well as social student. She is not shy to help others when they need assistance with their school work. She has a friendly personality and is an excellent leader when put into group work. Her school grading system is based on a scale from 1-4, 4 being excellent. G.A.H.’s report card has both three’s and some four’s in different categories that they are graded …show more content…
G.A.H. was very eager to begin the testing; she had not known what exactly it was going to consist of until the examiner introduced the test to her. Before testing her she was completing some homework so it might have been motivation simply to change what she was doing. The first nine tests were given in her home lasting about two hours. While conducting the test she was very engaged and had not shown significant signs of distractions other than the times her siblings would walk past her peaking into the tests she was taking. During the beginning of the block test, she had shown confidence and had gotten them correct. Once the questions became harder to discover answers to, she had shown lack of confidence and even boredom. She whined saying phrases such as “this is really hard” or “can we go to the next one now?” Too this the examiner replied “just try to do your best” and “the next one will be a little different”. There was often smiling and laughing when given the test which upheld a friendly environment.
On September 29th administration continued at the same time as before. While the location had changed mush of the same remained constant from the 1st day. On this day fatigue was surely a factor. With more familiarity from the 1st day G.A.H. attempted to rush through certain sections to which the examiner replied to work as carefully as possibly. Attention was much harder to retain on this day, however G.A.H.
