In this new age driven by technology everything around us seems to be changing. Technology nowadays has influenced many aspects of our lives from the way we get an education, apply for a job, and even how we find love. It is now possible to meet your future spouse through a computer screen, or at least that is what websites like Match, and eHarmony are claiming to be able to do. Can finding love really be that simple? Is answering a few questions like how much you make, or how tall you are really all it takes to be flooded with potential soulmates? Online dating has been growing in popularity recently because it allows you to have various options to choose from but having multiple options can be overwhelming, it is also exceptionally easy to lie on a dating cite which can put you in a potentially dangerous situation, lastly it takes out the surprise of getting to know someone. While online dating provides users with a variety of people to choose from, having that many options may not be the best idea. Having so many people to choose from can become overwhelming and “without a clear plan, online daters can get stuck endlessly "shopping" for the perfect partner, rather than actually starting a satisfying relationship” (Nicholson). Over 41,250,000 people in the U.S. who have tried online dating and fifty-three percent of them confessed to dating more than one person simultaneously (Statistic Brain).
