I am very honored to be invited to apply for membership to the National Honor Society. So many activities and experiences in my life demonstrate the key ingredients to be an outstanding member of National Honor Society. I love being engaged in school activities, such as band, pep band, gymnastics, vocal jazz, theatre, Swedish club, swimming, French Club, UWM Horn Choir, and I would like to join additional activities if I could. On a normal day, I come home at around 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and work very hard to receive good grades (4.0 GPA). This sometimes can be difficult because I participate in honors and accelerated classes. Even when I have a few bumps in the road, I continue to display that I am an active student who incorporates scholarship, leadership, character, and service into my busy schedule.

At first, I was hesitant to join this club, but after the first meeting, I loved it. We took a field trip to volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club of Milwaukee. In addition, we created another club titled Hand and Paw to take a stand and to help the community like we do in Leadership and Service club, however, this club is specifically to help animals. I enjoy now taking part in these activities because I feel I make a beneficial impact in the world. I believe I am a good candidate to be selected for the Robert Vela High School National Honor Society because I am a dedicated student. My grades do reflect my abilities as a student, but my work ethic in the co-curricular activities that I participate is what really defines it as I put a lot of time and effort into them. In U.I.L. calculator applications, which is the main activity that I partake in, I sacrifice my time almost everyday after school and sometimes my lunch period throughout the school year, as well as the majority of my Saturdays to compete and practice. Not a lot of students would give up this much time and effort unless they are very dedicated. This also reflects my leadership and character as one has to work and communicate…

National Honor Society Application Essay For any human to exhibit qualities throughout their lifestyle, one must transcend in certain aspects of their nature. Everyone is born with a different character or personality and not everyone exceeds in all of the same categories, however; I would place myself among the four characteristics of scholarship, leadership, service, and outstanding character as some of the qualities where I excel. I have always been a very studious person, and I take pride in my achievements in the classroom. I was also raised to believe that my best is an A, so when I got my first B it was not something taken lightly. I try to remember that if you put your mind to something, then you can accomplish it, which reminds me of the quote by Mike Farrell, “If you try to do your best there is no failure.”…
