His theory is the social learning theory. His theory states that learning is a cognitive process that takes place in a social context. Students learn when they are observing another individual and then imitating the individual’s behavior and through direct instruction. They also grasp information through modeling. I want to model what they need to learn and then provide opportunities for them to practice the skills. The modeling process of Albert is very beneficial because it includes the areas of attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation. I will try my best to eliminate minor distractions so they can be focused on the lesson. I will model repeatedly in order for my students to retain the information and allow them opportunities to show what they have observed or learned. Motivation will be a crucial factor in my classroom because all students need motivation to learn. Similar to Albert Theory, Jerome Bruner also suggested that learning would be greater if there was interest in the subject. I will incorporate all the interests of my students in my lessons. I love her thoughts on how students learn because curriculum is enhanced through the ideas, thoughts, and observations of children. My belief is that a child’s learning is a life long journey because it is endless. They will learn new concepts everyday. I want my students to view collaboration as an essential crucial part of education.
