We took them site seeing and shopping all over Los Angeles. Christmas Eve finally arrived. About seven o’clock in the evening everyone invited to the big celebration started to arrive. My mother and grandmother had been cooking up an amazing feast in the kitchen for the last five to six hours, although I was starving throughout the day I contained myself as much as possible and conserved my appetite for the buffet from around the world that I was going to enjoy in the next fifteen to thirty minutes.
Soon after everyone arrived, my mom called everyone to the table. It was amazing. The table was filled with different dishes. The American classics where there: roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, string bean casserole and sweet potato pie. Also present on the table was Chinese fried rice, chow mein, honey walnut shrimp, fried wontons and my all-time favorite Peruvian Lomo Saltado. I could not decide where to start. Those are the exact reasons why I love the Christmas holiday. I do not get to see many of my family members and dear friends much throughout the year, but for this one day or two throughout the year I am able to enjoy a nice home cooked meal and I get to be in the presence of all the amazing loving people I get to call my
