Thanksgiving is the special time of year when families come together to enjoy each other's presence and say thanks for all the gifts they have been given. Which is what makes Thanksgiving one of my most favorite holiday's. Thanksgiving is a time for family to practice traditions and bond with good people, over good food. My favorite Thanksgiving dinner, and my favorite dining experience overall, happened 2 years ago at my Aunts house. This Thanksgiving dinner is my favorite because my great aunt and uncle were visiting from Florida that week, and we only get to see them every couple of years. This Thanksgiving was different from others because everyone was allowed to help cook, and normally my aunt freaks out about cooking and is the only one allowed in the kitchen. …show more content…
As soon as we walked through the door, the smells of fall surrounding us, preparations for that night’s dinner began. My mother and my Aunt Nicole headed off to get to work on making their pungent sweet-sour cabbage, while my great-grandma and I worked on making her world-famous apple pie from scratch. My Aunt Julie, the culinary expert, was in charge of preparing her savory turkey, giving the wishbone to my cousin and I to split. My youngest family members, Beau and Hadley, worked on making Thanksgiving crafts, like turkeys they traced with their hands, and Thanksgiving confetti, something I always did when I was younger. To add the final touch to our Thanksgiving dinner my uncle put in our favorite movie, E.T. The
