Problem Identification
Coming up with an interesting topic was a little hard for my group. We had many ideas but had to be careful of how we presented them. When coming up with a topic, we did not want to make anyone feel guilty. So we decided to tackle awareness bystanders on mental health. The reason my group member’s and I decided to come up with this topic because most people who have a mental illness are in denial. The will not state that are depress but their roommate can notice they always down about something. When searching for information on Eastern Illinois University (EIU) library database about mental health bystanders using EBSCO, only two journal articles came up. They have to be train how to approach the person. Bystanders will have to learn how to build a great relationship with the victim, so the victim will be able to trust the bystander. Bystanders do not have to even be the person to help the victim to overcome their illness, they just have to recognize it, seek help for the victim, and continue to encourage the victim. When making recovery a person must, “improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to achieve their full potential.” When preparing for recovering, there are four scopes of recover: Health which helps a person make safe and comfortable decision physically and mentally; Home which make sure the victim has a established and harmless living environment; Purpose will make sure the victims are performing their traditional daily activities; and lastly Community make sure there is a strong bond between people who going to support the victim during their new journey,
