To begin with,the death penalty does not deter crime in any way.Concerning the death penalty,it has shown that it does not lessen capital crime. To illustrate an example,”Huffington Post” shows that of 88% of America’s finest criminologists agree that this not a good way to lessen capital crimes. In support of this it concludes that experts agree that this is not a plausible way to taper off theses types of crimes.Although the death penalty was intended to reduce crime or\and “equal punishment” it might have the opposite effect.(www.deltacollege.com)Studies suggest states that have the death penalty in place,have 37% more higher crime rates that those that don’t.This explains that the death penalty is reducing crime but actually giving it the opposite effect. Altogether this concludes one of the reasons why the death penalty is noneffective with capital crimes.Therefore this is not the correct way of punishment.

In addition to that states that have the death penalty is basically a waste of taxpayer money. A study by the KCADP shows that most states can actually afford the death penalty which could make states go into debt.If we did not have the death penalty we could have lower crime rates and go into less debt.All in all if we did not have the death penalty we would help ourselves a
