Statistical facts have also helped me make my judgment on the death penalty despite many reasons not to support it. In the year 2002, there were at minimum 1,526 people punished by the death penalty in 31 different countries around the world, and at minimum 3,248 people were sentenced to death in 67 different countries. Furthermore, 81 percent of the executions that took place were only in China, Iran, and the U.S.A. Those are only the facts for the year 2002 and it seems that the number of people punished and sentenced during this period of time was a very large and inconsiderate number. The death penalty is hugely helping narrowing down the population of inmates on death the row. There is not a single reason for them to think that this process of punishment is not helping. It seems as if it is not a very large number but if a person was to look at these statistical figures, it is actually a huge amount. It also helps in giving relief to families and even friends for the murders on their children, siblings or even friend which is done through the death penalty. The death penalty encounters and solves the overpopulating problem and this process is known as a compassion action. Most people that are paying tax are losing their tax money to the government or community councils to pay for the death row murderers, whilst the murderers should receive the death penalty which is better. These criminals should not be able to live whilst having all of their expenses paid for committing those serious crimes which have resulted in someone’s life ending when they haven’t done anything to deserve
