Leadership Kathy Dunlap Bethel University MOD 310 April 24, 2017 Kameke Payne Leadership No one theory of leadership has ever been accepted by all, but the common thought of leadership is that it is an influence process, occurs within a group, involves goals, and attainment. Some people think leaders are born with a trait that innately makes them leaders, while others theorize that it is a characteristic of an individual, but we have learned that leaders are a product of their development and life experiences. Leaders are concerned with understanding people’s beliefs and gaining their commitment. They function without focusing on the opinions of others, which allows them to think of new ideas and motivate others to develop these…

The contextual factors that I think affected these eight leaders were definitely affected by some, if not all, of the examples given above. These eight personalities/leaders all managed to shine or not shine in different ways, but no question, had say, Franklin Roosevelt or King David lived in the times that we live in today they might not have been able to utilize their strengths that they were able to in their time periods. When we look at these eight great leaders we see that they are all characterized with different leadership strengths, but we do see many shared contextual backgrounds. I believe that they all interact by way of historical era and the suffering they experienced in life which are uniting fronts and of great importance when…

Another important character trait a leader needs to have is creativity, they need to be able to come up with new ideas to keep the company relevant (“Qualities That Make A Great Leader”). I am grateful to be able to say that I have never worked for a principal who I have viewed as a boss. The two I have worked under were inspiring leaders who worked diligently to lead the teachers on the missions they declared for the school. I imagine working for a boss would be frustrating and get very tiresome after awhile. Most adults do not like to be told what to do and it truly limits their growth as an educator.…
