A company always needs to issue information to another organization or a group of people it is imperative the company knows their audience. When information regarding a accident or disaster, it's important for the company know their audience. For instance, the San Esteban Mining Company needed to know how to respond to each of the audience (families, employees, and the stakeholders) in the case of the Chilean copper mine in South America. The government knows that they need to have a pleasing manner towards the everyone involved in this accident. The government knows that it has to enforce the law and the guilty parties needed to be punished so the creditability would not be tarnished. The San Esteban Mining company filed for bankruptcy after the government took actions against the owners. President Piñera "asked for the resignation of the company's executives from the mining regulatory body" (French, 2010). President Piñera approval rating shot up to 70%. It is clear the public approved of the way the president handled the crisis especially the way he communicated.

Draft: Internal communication to the company's employees
It is with regret that I inform you of an accident that occurred at the San Jośe copper-gold mine today at 14:00 CLT (Chile Standard Time). The mine is located in the city of Copiapo where the miners are trapped. We have yet to communicate with the miners, and currently we have initiated the rescue team with all the necessary resources that is needed for this operation. The company will stay in constant contact with the rescue team and provide updates to our employees as they come in. Please be assured, we are doing everything in our power to bring the miners home safely. There will be a full investigation into the mine collapse and review of our current policies regarding inspections of mines so this will not happen in the future. We
