Age plays a predominant role in determining whether or not to give someone life in prison. In the article “kids are kids until they commit crimes’’ marlie lundstrom focuses on how ‘’today we are witness to criminal defendants facing life sentences without parole who cannot shave still play with fire trucks and love to act out scenes from television or video games. What the author is saying is that these kid haven't experienced life so they don't fully understand the permanent damage that their actions can bring upon them at the end of the day they're still just kids.
Maturity is the ability to stop and think about your actions and what kind of consequences they will bring it also helps you find what's the morally right thing to do. when you are young you lack that ability the maturity to make the right decisions and it's not a learning disability
