Kids Are Kids Until They Commit Crimes Analysis

There have been a lot of arguments about how punishment for children should be handled. On the 25th of June 2012 the supreme court made a decision that juveniles cannot be charged a life sentence due to a violation of the eighth amendment of cruel or unusual punishment however four supreme court members chose that children should be charged with life in prison. I believe that the ruling on this subject was right that juveniles should not be charged as adults and here's why.

Age plays a predominant role in determining whether or not to give someone life in prison. What the author is saying is that these kid haven't experienced life so they don't fully understand the permanent damage that their actions can bring upon them at the end of the day they're still just kids.

Maturity is the ability to stop and think about your actions and what kind of consequences they will bring it also helps you find what's the morally right thing to do. when you are young you lack that ability the maturity to make the right decisions and it's not a learning disability
