When it comes to group thinking, we need to acknowledge Theory X and Theory Y styles of management because depending on how the management leads can influence how groups think. In your example, you use the Air Force as a culture place on obedience over questioning. However, from experience as a Navy spouse, I can tell you that my husband gets challenge by Junior Sailors all the time to ask the Why? Today they want to know the reason of the order. What do you consider to be your most meaningful contribution to Colleges Against Cancer during the 2015-16 year? I think I consider my participation in Relay for Life event as the most meaningful contribution that I have made to Colleges Against Cancer during the school year. I was not able to attend Tuesday meetings especially on winter quarter because of a job I had that needed me on Tuesday nights. However, this did not hinder me to constantly communicate to my other committee members. When time permitted this spring, I actively participated during Tuesday meetings, some of the flyering weeks, the production for Relay props, and the event itself.…

I really liked the article about innovation leaders and learning about the 6 qualities that make them ‘quietly’ stand out. It is so true (and unfortunate) that some of the best innovators and “leaders” are not recognized or talked about in the media as much as political or Hollywood issues. Nonetheless, the article mentions that the “six strands of innovation leaders” include: self-awareness, eclectic experience, mission-driven, synthesizing, story-telling, and business case ready. Of the six, the two that stand out the most to me are eclectic experience and story-telling. In terms of eclectic experience, these leaders are adaptable and don’t follow a singular path or way of thinking.…
