Joel Stein backs up his statement by using credible sources to prove his points of interest. Stein states from the National Institutes of Health that narcissistic personality disorder is “three times as high” for adults in their twenties compared to the baby boomer generation (28). In his first point from the start of the article Stein states here is the “cold, hard data” to show from the intro of his article that he plans to back up his points based on the implication. The usage of “cold, hard data” also implies that Stein is giving the information directly to the readers. Stein used words such as “pragmatic idealists” to describe how the millennials act in the current system of their world (34). Pragmatic is another way of saying doing what works best.
