There are two (2) points that I agree with Comey’s speech. First, law enforcement agencies are not the “root cause of the challenges with racism and inequality that saturate this world. No, law enforcement is not solely responsible for the racism or the act of unfair treatment. We must look at Americans, politicians, society and the media as well as a part of the problem. No one is born being a racist, it’s a learned behavior. America, we are a racist society, in which blacks and minorities are systematically prevented from succeeding in life. Then if some blacks or minorities eventually make it to success, they continue to encounter prejudice and other obstacles. White American, also known as politicians, often claim that blacks and minorities’ behavior, illegal status and attitudes are their own obstacles to their the constant need to be policed and to live comfortable in society. Next, we have the media outlets that display blacks and minorities as lazy and irresponsible people that live off hard, working tax payers. For example, last month, the media aired the Department of Labor unemployment rate percentage by race and how many are getting public assistance and/or on welfare.
