Introduction

When creating the guest experience there are various reasons why hotel guests’ want to experience social spaces like bars or lounges, it is because they want to enjoy and share a drink with their friends or family.

And if the guest is checked in the hotel, why would they go somewhere else to drink or socialize if the hotel already provides for it? And for additional reasons, there may be an incident that needs help and if that happens the guest would be safe in the premises of the bar/lounge in the hotel since the hotel provides security.

Having a good experience in the establishment will also generate word of mouth marketing on behalf of the hotel’s bar/lounge. Word of mouth has been proven to be one of the most trustful

It is a major asset to discuss about choosing a social space in a hotel. The internal environment is just as important as the design and style because, as much as the establishment is nice inside and out it should also be filled with employees that are well-trained and can know how to make a guests’ day a happy one. Staff friendliness is mandatory, guests’ want smiling and reliable employees working in the hotel bar or lounge that they have chosen because if they turn out to be rude and inattentive, the guests’ will have different impressions and it will ruin the image of the hotel by spreading it to others. The internal consumers known as the employees play a big role and if they do something that can ruin the reputation of the hotel it is for sure that the guests won’t be coming back and would say their reviews online and the ambiance wouldn’t feel the same to some. Ambiance can affect how much guests drink or how much they spend in the bar/lounge. Ambiance can affect the perceptions on responsiveness and reliability from the guest perspective. If the hotel’s bar/lounge has high levels of customer satisfaction, there is a high possibility that the bar/lounge will have loyal guests which will mean that profit will increase.
