“Implementing new business/IT strategies requires managing the effects of major changes in key organizational dimensions such as business processes, organizational structures, managerial roles, employee work assignments, and stakeholder relationships that arise from the deployment of new e-business systems” (O’Brien & Marakas, 2011, Pg. 464). Of course we know that people don’t like change. It is important that there are proper end user education and training, improved communications, end user involvement in the development of and implementation of new systems, and involvement and commitment of top management and all other business stakeholders (O’Brien & Marakas, 2011). For example, my previous employer implemented Lean Six Sigma some years back. Nobody was happy about this implementation. It didn’t bother me as much because I knew with this process, management was going to be involved in helping us fix the issues that we were experiencing on the line, but with this they needed all of our feedback and information about the issues. I was willing to be involved. I was also in charge of helping get my line crew on board with the process. I was able to make them understand that with this implementation, it gave us “ownership” of that piece of equipment that we operated. No changes could be made to our piece of equipment without consulting with us first, because we know the ends and outs about the equipment.
