European nations, the USA, and Japan took a great chance to expand their territories, grow political influence and show the rapid growth of the economy. Despite the fact that those imperial nation being greedy and powerful, the Age of Imperialism indicated both positive and negative effects. The positive effects are the improvements of continental trading, exchanging goods and technology, publishing laws to protect human’s freedom and rights, improving lifestyle as transportation and living quality, stabilizing the global economy, and implementing both education and sanitary system. By contrast, the negative effects are slavery, depopulation, the loss of unique cultures, the conflicts between ethnic groups and colonized countries, famine, and racism. Due to the fact that imperialism is still happening now, modern imperialism should not be as terrible as that in the Age of Imperialism. The current dominant nations or global corporations should learn from the history by using no military force, having equal human rights, being more respectful, maintaining peaceful condition, and giving mutual benefits, so that our world can be more harmony without having inhuman treatments and resulting environmental damages
