Sierra Leone is located in west Africa bordering the North Atlantic Ocean. It has an area of 71,740 square kilometers. It has nearly 402 km of coastline. The climate is tropical and humid all year. Rainfall along the coast can reach 495 cm (195 inches) a year, making it one of the wettest places along coastal, western Africa. The land use is 56.2% in Sierra Leone. Sierra Leone has a natural resource of diamonds, titanium, and iron gold. The winds blow from the Sahara desert to Sierra Leone causing dust storms, and sandstorms during the month of December to February. The widespread destruction of forest reduces the planet's ability to remove carbon from the atmosphere. Climate change is affecting the world because the oceans could rise up to three feet by 2100. The global North countries are wealthy and industrialized to help each other with climate change. These countries are responsible for the emissions of climate change. Climate change is causing heat waves and air pollution. This is causing the risk of heat stroke, asthma, and heart disease among urban areas. Climate change is affecting the weather pattern around the world, the number of storms has increased. Poor countries are especially vulnerable to the effects of climate change because they rely on crops and climate change can effect that, changes in temperature, amount of carbon dioxide (CO2), could have impacts on crops. Poor countries are also affected because their governments are unable to respond quickly to disasters such as floods, hurricanes, and earthquake. What are the causes of climate change in general?
