Virtually half of the inhabitants are not drinking a safe water source. Most of the unsafe drinking sources are detached water, such as exposed wells, rivers, and ponds. Mostly, parasites and pollutions are found in a unclean water. Sierra Leone has a weak water storage system to sustain it population during the dry season. The people extracts only one-third of freshwater compare to other nations in related to size.
The government of Sierra Leone has a tough responsibility in handling water resources. It strive hard to maintain supply to areas that need abundant drinking water.
