Throughout both plays Creon exemplifies Integrity to family and the Gods. As well as, by having loyalty to his country. After deciding he doesn’t want to support a traitor he becomes a more authoritative leader, after facing the trouble of having a traitor. In addition, ”In lines 202-208 from the book “Antigone” Creon expresses demise. “Their thrones and all their power of sovereignty By nearness of my kindred dead And hard it is to learn what each man is…” Meanwhile, The demise of creon is caused the fall of Oedipus and Antigone. After both characters dying in “Oedipus Rex” Antigone is forced to bury one of her brothers and not the other, ruled by Creon. Which leads to the fact,“ In lines 685-686 Creon states “ I was not born with such frantic yearning to be king- but to do what kings do.” The confidence in this sentence said by Creon shows the leadership he displays through both play.
All in all, Creon’s view on leadership and loyalty evolved and changed throughout “Oedipus Rex” and “Antigone”, While he faced conflict as King. In some cases Creon was more of an authoritative leader to be sure his loyalty for his country was portrayed in the right way; and in some cases he was more of a relaxed leader showing responsibility of
