“That’s the real trouble with the world, Too many people grow up.” this quote is from Walt Disney, he was a filmmaker and a cartoonist. He is the creator of the popular Mickey Mouse, Oswald the rabbit and many others. Walt Disney’s ideas changed the world of cartoons and movies, he won many awards for his work. Walt is also known for creating Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Walt Disney impacted the citizens of United States because he worked for everything he earned, changed how the world saw cartoons and movies, and he inspires children of all ages.
Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. Walt was the fourth of five children of Elias and Flora Disney. Walt had four brothers and one sister. When Walt was five the family moved to a farm in Marceline, Missouri. Walt soon began to love to draw, Walt’s first few sketches were farm animals. Walt sold drawing to his family and friends, he also attended art classes. A few years later the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Walt soon began his first job as an artist, he drew sketches for a barber, in return the barber either gave Walt a free haircut or 25 cents. In 1917 Walt and his family moved back to Chicago. Walt didn’t have the easiest life, when his dad got tired of farming and they moved to Kansas City. His dad got a job as a newspaper deliver. Walt’s dad asked Walt and his brother to help out. While delivering newspapers, he also had school and he attended art classes at the Kansas city Art Institute. When Mickey Mouse first came out it had no sound, Walt decided to add sound, but he didn’t know who. Walt soon became the voice of Mickey Mouse.
