From Mickey Mouse to Disney Land, the famous Walt Disney has changed the world of entertainment forever! Walt Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois. Many rumors say his mother wanted to leave her life of poverty and as a washwoman (prostitute), behind, so she moved to the United States as and immigrant with her son days after he was born and dropped him at the door step of Elias (father) and Flora (mother) Disney. The Rumor was carried out when Javier Ercilla a script writer began to do “research” and was only able to find a single document in Chicago of a baptism years after Walters birth date. Later in life his family moved to Kansas City, where he grew close to his uncle Mike Martin who was a train engineer. Walt quickly gained interest in trains, and wanted to be close to them, so in the summer he would sell newspaper and snacks to travelers. He attended high school at McKinley High School in Chicago. He took photography and drawing in high school and also did the cartoon drawings in his high school newspaper. On top of high school he attended night classes at the Chicago Art Institute. He later dropped out of high school when he was only 16, with intentions of joining the Army. He was rejected due to his age, but that did not stop him. He drove an ambulance for one year in France as a member of the Red Cross. After a year of living in France he moved back to Kansas where his brother got him a job with Pesman-Rubin Art Studio. His next job was at the Kansas City Film Ad Company. He made commercials with cutout animation. Once Disney started to experiment more with cameras he opened up a business of his own. He asked Fred Harman who he met at the Ad Company to be his first employee. They began to show their cartoons called Laugh-O-Grams at the
