Homelessness is a real world problem and it’s been around for years and years. When you hear about homelessness most people’s minds automatically go to middle aged men and women, which is only a myth. There are more homeless children and young adults now than ever. Even some believe all homeless people are drug and alcohol abusers, which is also untrue. 17% of homeless people are found to have mental illnesses being the reason for their homelessness. Homelessness affects close to every community, there isn’t a place you can travel without seeing a homeless person or their belongings. Ethos, Pathos, and Logos play a huge role in this local/world wide problem. Homelessness is everywhere around us, there are many things we can do to save our community of this issue, but it takes all three of these points to accomplish it.

People all look at homelessness the same, but also very differently. We all have that imaginary outlook and perspective on homeless people. Are our thoughts about them true? Not all of them, but some. There are millions of homeless people out there in the world that have near to nothing of their own.

The homeless man’s face is cut out of his profile; while he holds a cardboard sign with, “Before you turn away put yourself in my place”, written on it. The cut outs were issued by Marc Van Gurp on April 5th, 2009. This ad jumps out at people because of the thought it brings to your mind. With their faces cut out, you’re not only seeing another homeless body, you’re looking at their face but you only see your own. It sends a message out to everyone for them to imagine being homeless and to put themselves in that person’s
