On July 26, 2016 at 6:39PM, an historic event occurred. Hillary Clinton was announced as the Democratic Party’s nominee. After Hillary Clinton’s loss in the 2008 presidential election, she tried again for the 2016 election. Little did she know at the time of the launch for her presidential campaign in 2015 that she would go down in history as the first woman to be nominated as the Democratic Presidential candidate. Hillary has been a huge advocate for women and families in the US, her loss in the 2008 presidential election was tough, but she was able to come back stronger, and Hillary Clinton’s new ideas can help improve the United States and the lives of the people that live there. Hillary’s insistence for humanitarian changes and reforms along with her past failures have all helped her clinch the democratic party’s nomination. Hillary Clinton was born in October of 1947. She graduated from Yale and began her career as a lawyer. Hillary was on the congressional committee with the president, Richard Nixon. Following this, Hillary’s husband, Bill Clinton, became the governor of Arkansas, and Hillary was named the First Lady of Arkansas for thirteen years. In 1993, Hillary Clinton was named the First Lady of the United States when her husband became President of the United States.
