High School Is Bad As People Made It Out Essay

Looking back on my freshman year, I realised that it was not as bad as people made it out to be. People say in terms of grades, that senior year and freshman year are the hardest to maintain. However, in my opinion, it is the easiest. For me, high school depicted in movies and high school in real life are totally different. I haven’t really seen any bullying or upperclassmen asking for your lunch money. However, to be honest, I don’t and didn’t interact enough to find out. I am the type of person who tends to keep to myself.

When I first came to the high school, I did think that it was extraordinarily bigger than middle school. I worried about getting lost and being late to my classes all the time. I would never change my route to get to my classes to avoid tardies. Other than that, I was never afraid of high school. I treated high school like I treated middle school. In my opinion, there was not that much of a difference between the two schools, except that the fact that one was bigger than the other. When I would walk through the halls, people would ask me what was wrong? To keep people away from me, I stared straight ahead when walking and kept a blank look on my face. Apparently, I didn’t look friendly while walking down the halls. Now that I think about it, I never looked that way in middle school. Now looking back, my “don’t mess with me” facial expression was a wall built to protect me from those typical high school rumors. I didn’t learn from this, however,…
