This is a two mile course that is marked in one-quarter mile increments and has a breath taking view. In addition, there is a local mall that is nearby and a Young Men’s Christian Association, more commonly known as the YMCA. Exercise can provide benefits such as lowering blood pressure, cholesterol, and stress. Another nursing intervention would be to encourage eating a healthy and balanced diet by promoting education. Creating pamphlets about the food groups and portion size could be distributed at local areas such as the farmers market, YMCA, and schools. Finally, advocating for smoking cessation is an additional nursing intervention. Using tobacco increases the risk of heart disease and the harmful effects of smoking can also cause other diseases. Delivering education and increasing awareness on the adverse effects of smoking to the community is central. Smoking cessation programs, educational material, and counseling can be provided to the community through local support groups, library, hospital, and churches. In addressing modifiable risk factors and increasing awareness of heart disease to the community, it can reduce mortality and optimize health, for Healthy People
