Many believe that sense we are taxing alcohol and cigarettes, it should be spent on medical testing that relates to the use or alcohol, cigarettes, and junk food. Like lung cancer, obesity, heart disease, stomach problems, brain damage, and inflammation of the pancreas just to name a few. Others think if should be also be used to help with medical development but in ways not relating to the people who are the ones drinking, smoking, and over eating unhealthy foods. They think is should be used to test other cancers, help the disabled and mentally handicapped. Some believe it should be used to help promote awareness to kids and young adults how bad these things are for you. The money should go towards bettering kid’s futures and education programs, it could also be used to hire to teachers, or supply materials that teachers need to improve the way they teach. Then are the people who think it should go the cities, to pay for new signs, roads, lights, decorations, sidewalks, bike paths, etc. Along with that some think the city should spend it on different things like new or improved stadiums, parks, and community centers. There are so many different places, things, and ideas that we could spend the tax revenue that it could be a debate for its own. Sense we want to limit the amount of smokers and drinkers for the nation’s overall health and to do that we need to stop it at a young age.
