As stated earlier, in 2008, almost forty-six million Americans did not have health insurance (Auerbach 1). Those who support Obamacare declare that this is unacceptable. They believe that Obamacare is valuable because it mandates coverage for every man, woman and child in the United States. Healthy people are massively affected by this mandate because they do not need health care, and now are required to pay for it in order to help insure forty-six million Americans who cannot afford it. Supporters of the Affordable Care Act are blind to the fact that forcing the people of America to buy health care is actually harmful. It has impacted the cost and quality of health care terribly, as proven earlier. Just because everyone is now insured, does not mean everyone has the quality insurance that they want at a price they can afford. Obamacare is startlingly expensive, and Americans are struggling to pay for it. Americans have and continue to endure cuts to other components of health care, various tax increases, and surging premium and deductible costs. Obamacare has also caused the quality of health care to decline. Americans have lost their insurance plans and choices as well as preferred doctors, which is awful because the doctor-patient relationship is so meaningful to quality health care. Doctors are also spending less time with patients due to the increased number of people with health care and the mandate of electronic medical records. It is extremely essential that America act to repeal the failure that is Obamacare. Hopefully, the future will bring a different plan for health care in America, one that is affordable and of good quality, unlike
