Hazen Drill Research Paper

Hello I’m Destiny Tran and I’m a sophomore. I’m currently going into my second on the Hazen drill team. I’m different for the kids in your class because I’m actually doubling up this year, so I’m taking two math classes. I’ve always had a love for math so I was really excited to have this opportunity to challenge my skills. I’m a pretty happy person, I’m kind of quite in class because I like to focus on my work, but I the same time I like to participate. I would like a teacher who take their time to make sure everyone understand, because since this is a hard class it’s really important to be specific and to make sure we’re prepared for the test. My goal this year is to get a 4.0 both semester and get top 20% in my class. My goal for the rest of high school is to straight A all four years, become captain of the Hazen drill team by senior year, win state for the school in all three events, get an A in AP calculus, score really high on the SAT, and to be involved and have the best four years of my life. …show more content…
One day I would want to become an orthodontist which mean after high school I have 10-11 more years of school! This might sound weird but I do pageants. I hope one day I would have the chance to compete for Miss USA or Miss Teen USA. I don’t really shared this part of my life because pageantry has a negative view but pageants has done a lot for me as a person I’m currently taking Kumon outside class so I feel really confident in my math skills but I heard from a lot of my friends that this class is really difficult so I might be staying after school a lot. All in all I am really excited about this class, math has always been my strongest subject so I’m anxious she see how it

There’s a Chinese Proverb that says, “Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get back up again.” I really wish I heard that quote when I thought I was a failure, but really was just being lazy. In Carol Dweck’s article “Brainology” a study is conducted on seventh grade students and their mindsets. Their mindsets were measured and studied for two years. Dweck studied the difference between the fixed mindset and the growth mindset students and how they did in school.…

Ever since I was a child, my 2nd grade teacher asked us what we want to do when we grew up. Many people had different answers, but I said I wanted to become a state trooper and she said, “did you know that you might get shot?” and I said that I didn’t care. I replied that I will take a bullet for a complete stranger anytime because they might have children that they need to go home to, to provide for. My 8th grade teacher asked our class what do you want to be and I told her that I wanted to be state trooper and then she gave me some books to read over that career.…

When each day begins I ponder upon what my future will hold. Each time my memories change, and twist, and morph to fit my idea of a perfect existence. However, the one memory that remains clear as day, is the day received a phone call that would change my outlook on life. It was a call from the director of the Miss USA Organization asking if I was interested in becoming Miss Issaquah Teen USA. Knowing that this was a pity call I graciously declined, but no matter what I did I could help but think about it; over the next few weeks I google and researched all that anyone would ever want to know about pageants.…

The question of our childhood seemed to be one that we can all recall: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Typically, we would say things like, “I want to be an astronaut,” or, “I want to be a princess.” As kids, we think big; however, as we get older, we figure that these aspirations to be a ballerina, to be the president, become more farfetched. Instead, we set more day-to-day based goals. Our goals change all the time.…

Third advisory always proves challenging for me. This year, however, I remained on task throughout each quarter, so I saw third as a chance to keep that streak up. Sadly, I did not fully apply myself and excel to my best ability, specifically in AP Language. Usually around the end of the quarter, I have a strong B. As of right now, I have a noticeably weaker C+, which is not good in my opinion. Also, my attendance in third quarter was low, as I was absent many times for injuries and appointments almost every week.…
