They have accomplished just that in providing a search page that loads easily and is not crowded with advertisements and distracting material. Another superior customer value that Google lives by is the fact that they are able to say with ease “fast is better than slow” (Google Organizational Structure, 2011). Google is aware of the change in time where everyone wants everything now rather than later. No one has the time to sit at a computer and wait an exorbitant amount of time just to receive one bit of information. Information needs to be at the fingertips in a matter of seconds. Google has managed to decrease the amount of time customers search their web pages and are actually happy when the search is over in a matter of seconds because they know that customer(s) will be coming back to perform similar future searches due to the fast and efficient results received and will see the web page as extremely reliable, cost effective and efficient. How do they make revenue if all of their services are free to the public? What do they do for money? Am I one of Google’s customers? These are all frequently asked questions when it comes to finding out just who Google’s customers really are. With Google having billions of hits every day, it would seem to the general public that they would find some way to make revenue from such a high traffic area. We’ll they have. They took the easy route, and set up advertisers who will pay them to post advertisements of their products on Google’s home screen. At first thought, they charged advertisers a flat fee for whatever amount of time the advertisement was set to run for. After a some research, it was found that Google found a way to maximize its income by charging its advertisers per hit of the advertisers’ website. So as we browse Google for addresses, phone numbers and answers to questions; the advertisements around us are generating an income at just the click of a button. The advertising prices range from 20 to 60 cent per click depending on the amount of time the customer spends on the advertisers’ website. This could be the best news ever for Google considering that they get about 9.6 billion hits a day based on a study from 2009. This could also be a risky way to perform this operation.
