“Good” vs “Evil”; Is it Nature or Nurture? “We serial killers are your sons, we are your husbands, we are everywhere. And there will be more of your children dead tomorrow.” – Ted Bundy. For years psychologists have wondered what makes a person good or evil, and that question, still to this day, is unanswered. Some believe it’s nurture, other believe it to be the very fact of nature. This is because we as humans have the need to have our own desires fed, and that is why within every single human in this world, we all have that potential to be evil. For the longest time, and still to this day, psychologists believe that what makes a person evil is their family upbringing. And what makes a person good is the saintly acts and the time that they take out of their daily life in order to help others around them. This though has been like this since the dawn of ages. What is considered good and or evil? These terms are used in a very simplistic way, people who are generally defined as good is not a self-centered or cruel person. They have a special ability to connect with other people on a mental level and empathize with them as well. It allows them to feel their compassion to help others and put the needs of other people above their own. People who are good will sacrifice their own wellbeing for the sake of others. Psychologists and historians say that every saintly person to have lived in history has had an abundance of these qualities. Some examples are Mahatma Gandhi and…
